  This is no longer Mestizas. I wish it was!
  It is now Casa de la Abuela. The decor is still the same, and the old Mestizas sign is still out front above the door, but it is no longer the quaint little restaurant the locals around here have grown to love. No, it hasn't been for a while now. We came here a while back, and the service was subpar, and the food was salty, like your grandmother when she is off her meds. So we thought, every place under new management has to have time to settle in, get the recipes down, and get the staff up to speed. After our visit today, I can see that we were wrong. The food... still salty as ever. The service... still lacking. The waiter asked if we needed a minute and we said yes... what he failed to mention, was that his minute equaled ten to our one, so the wife got up, and found him. The chips and salsa: stale, hard tortilla chips, think I chipped a tooth. Salsa was okay, though.. He got my order wrong, but I troupered through and ate it anyway. The wife got the burrito bowl and I got the Super Burrito lunch, which turned out to be the Burrito Mexicano. She got maybe four bites in and couldn't go on with it... I powered through about a third of mine, before I threw in the towel, and started to worry about contracting high blood pressure from all of the sodium cloride. When he asked how the food was, we let him know it was salty. After a few minutes went by, he brought us a complementary flan, on the owner... It was a nice gesture, but too little, too late. Sadly, we will not be returning.
